N.K – Russia Vehicle Bridge Progress Update #1 : Officially Begun Building ― May 16, 2025

Russia’s TASS news agency reported that a groundbreaking ceremony for the construction of a vehicular bridge connecting North Korea and Russia was held via video conference on April 30th, with the respective prime ministers of Russia and North Korea attending. Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin stated that this bridge is a ‘symbol of eternal friendship’ and will greatly contribute to future trade, economic cooperation, and the revitalization of tourism. It is further predicted that after a construction period of one year and six months, the bridge, with a total of 10 lanes, will be able to accommodate 300 vehicles and 2,850 people per day. Currently, infrastructure work is underway in the border region of both countries, with construction activities being particularly active on the Russian side.
