North Korea has been preparing for a large-scale military parade since May. Kim Jong Un, who recently attended China’s Victory Day celebrations and sees himself as having stood shoulder to shoulder with Xi Jinping and Vladimir Putin, is expected to showcase military power on a scale comparable to China’s unveiling of new weapons such as the DF-5C ICBM. Based on his recent inspection visits, it is anticipated that North Korea will reveal the new Hwasong-20 ICBM, cruise missiles, new tanks, electronic warfare equipment, as well as unmanned reconnaissance drones and tactical attack drones integrated with artificial intelligence.

Through this event, North Korea will seek to demonstrate the stability of the regime, strengthen internal unity and propaganda, as well as showcase its military power in an effort to secure a more favorable position in future negotiations with the United States.
